Microsoft telah menyiapkan sistem operasi generasi berikutnya yang konon diberi nama Windows 8. Versi preview Windows 8 telah dirilis buat para mitra pengembangnya. Namun, beberapa bocorannya telah sampai ke media.
Salah satunya adalah user interface yang disebut fitur ribbon. Tampilannya mirip menu yang sudah digunakan pada Microsoft Office. Menu-menu drop down diganti dengan toolbar di bagian atas. Ribbon awalnya dirancang pada Office agar fitur-fitur yang dimiliki mudah diakses sehingga pengguna lebih produktif.
Namun, pengguna ribbon pada tampilan sistem operasi tentu punya tujuan berbeda. Salah satunya memudahkan pengguna pada perangkat berbasis layar sentuh. Sebelumnya, Microsoft memang menyatakan bahwa Windows versi berikutnya akan mendukung penuh perangkat tablet.
Meski demikian, tampilan ribbon ini belum pasti apakah akan digunakan pada versi final. Dilihat dari bentuknya, ini masih tahap pengembangan awal dan bukan versi akhir yang akan digunakan Microsoft.
Selain fitur ribbon, user interface Windows 8, juga menampilkan desain Metro yang digunakan pada Windows Phone. User interface menampilkan jam dan hari, termasuk ikon power management dan kemudahan akses ke aplikasi.

I think it will be better and very easy to use then its older version. I am waiting very curiously.
Hope windows 8 is not going to become what Vista became for windows XP: only visual improvements plus some bells and whistles. Win 7 is already nice.
meskipun bukan hasil akhir tapi kayaknya sudah keren .
komputer juga musti upgrade neh... OS sudah semakin berat kompi masih jadul :P
